In this ironic documentary, we see a laboratory at Helix Bio Tech Corporation where we run into Dr. Wanda A. Langton. She gives us a shortened history of eight men. In the 150 years covered by this history, these eight were connected with biology and all represent a certain step in the development of eu-gene-tica; the scientific research into all factors which could improve the human race. The development of what started as a description by Eugene Mendel of something visible, is followed stage by stage. Eugene Genome is ultimately the supreme description of all genes and Eugene Columbus realizes a development: nature is altered to fit our ideas. 'Naturally' this covers our ideas of what is normal and what is abnormal. And all this is viewed with an eye fixed on the future because then we will be able to prevent diseases so that we can have the "natural right to be able to guarantee the health of our children and our children's children". From description to prescription is considered here in the light of progress and described using these remarkable men who have made and will continue to make their contribution to all this: "Eight men called Eugene".
