The video is made from hand shot and documentary images of military and civil activity in the region of the frontier. But it also shows images of nature in this area, and of birds. It is these images of birds that are shown in the installation: three walls surround the viewer with images of flying birds that fly out and then regroup again in patterns determined by an invisible logic. The birds need pay no attention to the frontier and are free to come and go, to fly where they will, whereby they can be associated with liberated spirits. And possibly with the idea that they are messengers of the gods who can bring news from heaven to earth and back again, the carriers of truth. Halted by a frontier with a threat coming from the other side and with a desire to understand what is about to happen, they perhaps still bring signs from which something can be determined.
