After Mortaja (1995, together with Fernando Marquez), Perumanes made another beautiful homage to a dead friend. "Only one picture - only one take - to revive a dead friend" is his brief commentary. Behind the rotating glass of what appears to be the lense of a lighthouse, you see the deceased. You can't hear him - only the rattle of something playing in the wind can be heard. Touching is just as impossible, even though he reaches towards you. Juan belongs to the kingdom of the dead, to the shadows of the past. Only one image will sink into your retina - until you too leave the earthly and join him.
