After the vicious little book 100 ways to use a dead cat there is now the video '100 ways to use a dead rabbit' as well. This Danish duo who previously tickled us with their course in cutting onions (Afrivning af log, 1995), now toss a dead rabbit about. You can make it into a tumbler, a die, a ball, a doormat or a fruit basket; you can let it swim, smoke or just lie there dead. The narrator loses complete control: screaming with laughter, she tells of the crazy rabbit that was called Miss Long Ear and that was always so vain. The tape is meant as a simple installation. On entering, the visitors can only see the back of the monitor so they are deprived of the hilarious images. They therefore have to concentrate on four viewers who arrived earlier and who can follow the adventures of Miss Long Ear on the other side of the monitor. Together with the narrator, they, hopefully, dissolve into laughter as soon as the crazy rabbit appears in yet another idiotic form. The uncontrollable hilarity of these four guinea pigs should be infectious for the rest of the visitors. "The video becomes a commentary on art, the viewer-art relationship, and a classical concept of aesthetics", say the makers - with the same pomposity that proved fatal for Miss Long Ear.
