Nine women tell a number of dreams in nineteen minutes. They do so calmly, straight into the camera, while turning off-camera: slowly. The women are all dressed the same: in a black with a low-necked shirt, so that they pass by like figure-heads which is partly due to the cut of the frame. The black background, too, corroborates this simplicity. Sometimes the women turn away their heads and seem to listen to the next woman. Sometimes they are engrossed in their own thoughts or concentrate on their own stories. Some women immediately whisk you away to their dream, with others the emphasis is on their facial expressions or intonation and cadence. Besides, the stories are told in fragments, so that it is hard to follow all dreams. That this is not necessary becomes clear when the images are speeded up and the stories are deprived of the opportunity of being told anymore. A whirlwind of image and sound results: the women all flow into one and a cacophony of voices changes into a shrill tone.
