The Sanchari Dance Company from India invited Mike Stubbs to make a video interpretation of their performance 'Rhythms of Life'. According to Stubbs, the production became "a never done before Indian dance pop video". It is true that it is a lot like a video clip that wouldn't look out of place on MTV. The only thing it has in common with the production 'Subhadra' by Ein Lall is Indian dance. Although both of them exploit the possibilities of video and manipulate their material to reach individuality, the results differ radically. Stubbs used many close-ups, so that one does not get an overall picture of the choreography. Less dynamic images in black and white form the backdrop for sweeping takes in full colour, which causes a layered effect. The brightly coloured dancers pass before our eyes with elegant movements of the hands and laughing faces. The rhythmic electronic music referring to both Indian and disco music adds to the feeling that this is a video clip - and a very attractive one at that.
