Kazama and Ohtsu, better know as the Visual Brains, have now got to the fourth part of 'De-Sign'. The title 'cycle:recycle' does not imply that the previous editions are reused in this part - one Nam June Paik is all that video art needs at present. 'Cycle:recycle' looks at the entire cycle of life and shows the existence of a successful YAP (Young Asian Professional) in a nutshell. Literally, since thanks to an image manipulation, which recalls the old fish-eye lens, the circle is indeed round. A pleasant effect, as any one knows who has ever looked into a christmas tree ball. 'Cycle:recycle' looks cheerful too, at first. A bouncing baby opens the series of images, and at one point, there is even singing even though it is drunken carousing. But, after a quarter of an hour when the life story is over, the question as to whether it was worthwhile or not, becomes rather painful.
