Whatever became of Byron Black? 'Byron Black is alive and well and living in Indonesia', to use an American cliche. More importantly: especially for the World Wide Video Festival audience he made a tape about our closest relatives in the animal kingdom, who, according to Black, show great similarities to the average festivalgoer. Black currently lives on the southernmost edges of Djakarta together with a number of primates upon whom he bestows human qualities considering their names. And why not, when he shares a cigar with Michael Jackson - and Black emphasizes 'jack' (as in 'jacking off'). With Charles Darwin and Nancy Reagan - monkeys - Black leads a pleasant life provided that he sticks to Islamic law prevalent in Indonesia. But just like his best mates, Black lives on a chain. He accepts it though, that is if Michael Jackson and he are invited to come to The Hague.
