It is a platitude to say that we live in a changing world. And yet most people are searching for something to hold onto in all the confusion. We try to define our spiritual position and words and thoughts serve this purpose. Some we make up ourselves and some are offered to us by those who, in the broadest sense, design the culture of a certain period. Forgács couples inspiring texts to old amateur films from a time when happiness was still the rule. Ice sports, a dancing party in a clearing in the woods, a family dinner or a little boy who dresses up in a military costume at his birthday party. All that has developed a shiny patina due to the passage of time. That nostalgic glimpse makes us forget that that world too had immense problems. With image and text, the tape offers us a double inspiration, a meditative moment. It is indeed part of a series that the Hungarian television broadcasts twice a day as a moment of peace in our turbulent existence.
