Nothing is more subversive than hedonism, especially if you are in the only catholic girls school in East Germany and the credo is opportunism. In the eighties, Mechthild and Cornelia enjoyed the privilege of going through the Theresienschule and saw the opportunity of fleeing to the west after their matriculation exams. Seven years later in the now reunified Germany, a reunion seemed the right moment to document the landscape of the youth in unsteady frames. Even the more pious classmates join giggling, but in good humour, in this profane kazoo canon does in the papal evergreen 'Dona nobis pacem'. But, by fits and starts, the once fled duo goes one step further and Mechthild and Cornelia succeed in once again proving their reputation as arch provocateurs whilst the classmates look on dismissively. ''We just wanted to milk each other, as often as we could.'' What this procedure entailed is demonstrated using a goat after which domestic equipment is called upon to provide the suction part.
