The tried and tested story of the attraction of Tinsel Town and of the hopefuls who chase after their dream in Hollywood, 'the Metropolis of make-believe'. The Silver Brothers, movie moguls and (therefore) of Jewish decent, are already on their way back when Texas Tammy and the New Yorkers Mat & Mary arrive. The studio norms are best expressed by the studio boss Irving Silver: "A good picture is like a good lay. An audience never forgets it if you screw their brains out." Advertisement films for 'The California Heartland' cut the story and so recommend the domestic values of that other California. The characters in 'Made in Hollywood' aren't impressed with this and charge celluloid pieces of wisdom in a supermarket: "We're surrounded by copies. This ain't the real world, it's been wiped out years ago". The Yonemotos make grateful use of these copies, of tycoons and other icons, and, using too well known (film) material as a basis, they manage to achieve a result that is just as surprising as the final choice of Tammy, played by Patricia Arquette - the lesser known sister of star Rosanna and therefore just the person for this B movideo.
