The state of Pernambuco, with its two largest (coastal) towns Recife and Olinda, is located on the eastern coast of middle Brazil. In the most popular spots in these towns, open air TV is presented for (and often by) the less well-off section of the population. They start by building a structure to make the pictures visible for a large audience, after which popular music announces the programme. It is stressed that pictures will be shown of 'Your Image'. Subjects cover small independent cooperations, the price of a person, cancer of the womb, demonstrations against the Itaparica dam by local farmers and the festivities during Carnival. The themes are linked together in a humoristic way by simple animation of toys, whilst the often serious subjects are presented in a light-hearted way by smooth anchor men.
