The March Sirk (metod III)
  The Netherlands 1990
Videotape, 10:45, colour & black-and-white, stereo
In broad terms, this video can be described as falling into three parts. In a short prelude we hear a series of accused persons protesting their innocence in various keys in German. In the first part, bird sounds and the structures on the screen suggest that we are high up, circling a landscape. Primitive sounding jungle noises create the atmosphere of a tribal war. The second part starts with shots of houses and moves from the cat to a bird flying up, climbing and flying higher and higher in simple faded blue-black images, drawing lines across the screen. The third and last facet 'Kumulus Retaliat Konstruk' shows constantly repeating images of the powerful swell of the mountains whilst a splashing noise swells up until it finally sounds like an unceasing applause for their own greatness.
