Salloum and Suleiman collected a large number of images involving myth forming about the Arab world. These fragments, which include snippets from TV news bulletins, feature film and cartoon film fragments, are shown in a compilation. We also see documentary shots of the riots in the Gaza strip whereby the makers specifically concentrate on the Palestinians. It seems as if they are trying to show us that the chosen material gives us prejudice rather than providing us with insight. In 'Le Gai Savoir' Jean-Luc analysed the above genres. Using acted scenes where he himself gives the commentary and written texts on screen, Godard takes stock of his findings, creating a strictly personal vocabulary in the process. Salloum and Suleiman confine themselves to their collage which provides us with information, but whereby their personal handwriting is limited to quotation.
