Dog Baseball

A story from the wonderful world of The United States. The land of unlimited opportunity now introduces baseball for dogs. "No," the coach says, "the team doesn't play for money or glamour. No, it's just for fun." 'Good clean fun', as the Americans say. While the team, put together from various dog races, arrives at the pitch for another exciting match, the star player is flown-in by private jet. Proudly, the coach fills us in with titbits about his 'boys'. One of his top players actually cost 400 dollars. Yes, in the world of dog baseball the transfer fees are climbing. Two other prominent players are rather delayed owing to their work in an antique shop and one dog is much more interested in the plankton in the ditch on the edge of the playing field.
