Totes Geld
  Germany 1987
Videotape, 49:00, colour
'Totes Geld' belongs among the following: 'Chérie mir ist slecht', 'Der Unbesiegbare', 'Ein Kuss fürs Leben', 'Die Legionäre' and 'Riff'. In other words it is a 'Berlin' video. The final credits - a shame about the type - include well known names like Hámos, Kiss and Wolkenstein. Gisa Scheelein treats the audience to a 'pictorial romance' which gives just less than an hour of great fun with the acting, the locations, the effective use of technical wizardry, the very cool diction of the witty commentary and above all, some charming coswithic imperfections. Four small time criminals in a harbour town: Andi, who keeps practicing dying; Hans, a musician; Sissa who loves money and is a whore because of it and Mel, who falls in love with Katrin, a night club singer who can't sing. In Katrin's footsteps the 'well-to-do' Chinese comes into their lives. What does he want from her? Finally everyone has lost an illusion with the exception of the dead Chinese. Fix us another Jack Daniels.
