Installation
A music tape without sound? Who would be so daft as to conceive such a thing? Right. Nam June Paik. In this two monitor installation Paik once again shows that he is a briljant rag-and-bone man. This time he has collected a noiseless torrent of images. A familiar feature of Paik’s productions is that he frequently resorts to earlier work, and why not. Here, it is exemplified in the renewed acquaintance with cellist Charlotte Moorman, in deathly hush, which is nevertheless still agreeable. Paik wants the spectator to choose the right music to this installation. Not very difficult, for this succession of high-speed arbitrarily ordered images lends itself to any soundtrack.
