Till Death to Apartheid
  UK 1986
Videotape, 5:20, colour and black-and-white
Hell on Earth. What does that look like? Making a detour via Hitler clone Mosley and Maggie T. we arrive in Botha land, where the Beast rules according to Rev. Boesak. There is scarcely any light in the darkness, certainly not while UK in particular continues to support South-Africa, albeit not wholeheartedly. Although made with a sense of humour, this scratch-production 'Till Death to Apartheid' is the more frightening because of the many short shots of bloodily repressed protest in South-Africa. The frequent criticism made that scratch-tapes are the easy option does not apply in this case. On the contrary, 'Till Death to Apartheid' is a powerful statement which works extremely well with this particular approach.
