A mother wants to make contact with the spirit world. She has just one burning question: has her dead son finally found peace? 'Nomi di Battaglia: Bruno' is, in part, a dramatised documentary. It is the vivid recollections of a mother of her son, who perished as a member of the Red Brigades. The emotional narrative of the mother is interwoven with historical material and newspaper headlines. This production consciously manifests an atmosphere of illegality. Plain, simple and anything but perfect, it is nevertheless, definitely effective. The mother tells us about her son, Maurizio, battle name: Bruno, who always dedicated himself to the less fortunate in the large cities of Italy. Bruno never cared for life, his mother thinks, he saw too much injustice and felt himself morally obliged to resist. Embittered, the mother tries to blame herself. She should have made him change his mind - what else is a mother for? But now her only comfort lies in the knowledge that 'on the other side' he has found rest and happiness. However, the spirit world remains silent.
