There lies the Malkoff meadow. A detective enters the meadow during his search for a suspected murder. He first names various parts - knee, eye, toe, finger, nail. This brings the meadow to life and its heart - the Malkoff tower - can be approached at the so-called snail's pace. What kind of place the tower is (actual or symbolic) is unclear, but searching is researching, so the detective - armed of course - ascends the Malkoff tower. Reaching the top, he comes face to face with the view he expected, but also not the one he longed to see. Nevertheless, at the end of the search it turns out that the investigation can be brought to a successful conclusion. This detective with his 'Belgian' - and therefore inimitable - philosophizing, is almost enough to make us forget Hercule Poiret.
