The title of this video recalls the origins of present-day art, one of the foundation-stones of western culture. Following the distortion of a painter's vision by the free use of video techniques, we are caught up in the colourful dance of a challenging goddess. A prisoner of the glowing lines that flow out of her gestures, she hurls us into the dramatic-looking contrasts of the modern world. The (art) history of the twentieth century is unleashed upon the viewer with the speed and noise of a machine-gun, granting him respite only now and then in a painterly detail. Men, women, war, viewers of the first three-dimensional film, pre-historic drawings, computergraphics and direct artistic expressions in round, triangular or square frames within the structure moves in the opposite direction, all emphasize the chaotic mass of in formation that crowds in upon us in our daily lives.
