'Transit' is a lively colour-study with content inspired by the incompatibility of nature and civilisation or to be more exact, between the archetypical jungle full of screaming apes and the dreary alienation of scrap-metal and concrete townscape. The recurrent image of a nude woman in oscillating colours makes terse, convulsive gestures. Perhaps she feels threatened by a pack of wolves, fortunately blotted out by the modern process of digital reproduction. Perhaps also the title is meant to suggest this rite de passage. Otherwise, Frank's colours are as like as two halves of a Rorschach ink-blot to the fluorescent favourites of the Beatles early in the Apple-era.
