Allen Ginsberg, Peter Orlovsky, Steven Taylor on Tour, February 16, 1983

Am I a Spy from the moon?
     a lunar Communist?
A Capitalist Counterrevolutionary
from the land of Big Prick?
No I just wandered in from
     the Buddhafields
for a Cup of bloody tea

That is what Allen Ginsberg wrote in the Friedrich Engelshaus guest-book when he visited Wuppertal on 16 February 1983 during his tour. This programme follows him during his stay in the city; the high-points are a press conference and hist performance. Ginsberg announces his opinions about drugs, subsidising art and the times from the Forties to the Eighties among other things. During his performances he reinstates the troubadour, a figure displaced by the art of printing.
