Women experience life in a big city like Berlin completely different from men. That is the theme of this production, striking thanks to its atmospheric use of colours, carefully chosen framing and inventive camera work, varying from static to extremely subjective. The start is intriguing and very blue: shots of trees swaying in a stiff wind; the sounds of an American radio station. There are then scenes of architecture and traffic and one scene set in a parking lot; sounds of church bells and traffic give way to electronic music. The city is a 'natural' environment for the man who has his role to play there while the woman feels alienated and becomes introverted. A seductively-dressed woman places a mosaic of geometric figures, relating to the architecture of the city. Her approach is however introverted and far removed from the 'sehr beschäftigt sein' of city life. A tableau vivant of couples clothed in black gathered around a grand piano is reminiscent of the drawings of Robert Longo.
