During a performance in Amsterdam's Carré Theatre in 1980 Moniek Toebosch shut herself up in a box. This eccentric Dutch performance artist sang while, with her left hand, she painted the inside of the box. Meanwhile she held a video camera in her right hand to record the scene, here shown on the left monitor and then visible to the Carré audience. The right monitor shows a repetition of the 'work', recorded in a studio without an audience.
