Virtuosity, humour and self-critical irony vie for first place in this refined anthology by the often-copied but never equalled Nam June Paik. 'My Mix '81' opens with a version of 'Lake Placid' (1980) in which Paik sends images of the Winter Olympics through the synthesizer with fingers nimble as Paganini to the rhythm of rock and roll music. 'Beethoven's Fourth Piano Concerto' is older work in a new setting in which both composer and piano are treated with a playful lack of respect. In a new version of 'Suite 212' Paik combines pictures of the Italian neighbourhood of New York with the prelude to the first act of La Traviata. The original version was made in 1975 and had already been revised in 1977. Paik's contributions are interrupted by fragments from a discussion in which a posh woman interviewer politely allows herself to be pilloried by the video artist. 'The best interview I have ever given', according to Paik.
