Bamboo Generation
  Japan 1980
Videotape, 14:00, colour
An impression of a day-out dancing for the takenoko-zoku, the tribe of 'bamboo shoots' in Tokyo's Yoyogi Park. The Japanese youth gained its nickname because its generation is on average 15 cm. taller than its parents. Once a week they go to the park, change their straight outfits behind the bushes for eccentric colourful costumes and dance, in this tape to the music of the Talking Heads. They form a first-rate tourist attraction.
