The Utrecht-based women's video group Medea was commissioned by the Dutch Women Against Rape campaign to make this tape. Women talk among themselves about their fear to walk the streets at night. A victim of rape reports the crime to the police and is forced to provide all the grisly details of her sad story. The after-care, the fear to venture out alone in the evenings which lasts a long time and the sexual problems with the partner are all shown in Medea's video. The whole range of misery is discussed: rape by relatives, sexual assaults in the disco. Is the answer a course in self-defence?
