'... And then I have always waited for this cake'
  Germany 1981
Videotape, 120:00, black-and-white
The fascinating story of the 77-year old writer, painter and communist Hilde Rubinstein. In 1935 she emigrated to Sweden from Germany after being imprisoned for anti-nazi activities. In 1937 she was imprisoned in Moscow for being 'a Trotskiist courier'. She still lives in Sweden. In this video tape she tells of her experiences during the rise of fascism in Germany, her own development as an artist and what happened to her in Russia, in chronological order. Her greatest wish is to return to live in her birthplace. The writer reveals a mild and humanist philosophy which leaves room for much personal contemplation.
