In a series of evocative portraits, six Vietnam veterans express distinctly individual perpectives on the war and its consequences in their lives. These man represent a cross-section of experiences and attitudes, ranging from 'I don't want to talk about it' and 'I'd never do it again' to 'I'd go back' and 'It was good for me'. Jones constructs an impressionistic monologue from candid interviews as a means of describing the emotional contexts of the men's present lives. One of the interviewed veterans is Dan Reeves, maker of the impressive Vietnam-tape 'Smothering Dreams'.
