Julie Harrison makes an expressionistic use of video. She distorts dramatic motifs such as 'torture', 'despair' and 'sado- masochism' with the aid of all the means which video technology makes available. In 'Selections' she makes frequent use of double images, an emotional zoom lens, processors and synthesizers to affect the form and colour The cuts are rapid and sudden and literally leave an almost uneraseable impression on the eyes.
