This feature-length documentary is a musical, a mondo film and much more, filmed in twenty countries all over the world. It is a journey in search of the power of music, sexuality, faith and dance. Meet the singing apes, experience the power of voodoo, a virtually unknown religion with over 100 million followers. Listen to Sogyal Rinpoche talking about death, meet Annie Sprinkle, Bruno Manser, Cashus D, Japanese noise musicians, a Russian art terrorist, a brain researcher and shaman and many more. In 'LPC International' we meet people who share their visions, stories, dreams and songs – who exemplify mental survival strategies on the edge of the next millenium. The people who are interviewed are transformed into 'singers', as their voices were sampled and 'melodified' and integrated into the film as musical elements. Then the film was cut in synchronicity with the music, which could be described as beats and chants from all over the world, mixed with electronic grooves. Lucky People Center was originally a project and a club in Gothenburg, Sweden and has developed into a live act and a unit making music, film and TV, producing events, doing installations and exhibitions. Erik Pauser and Johan Söderberg have produced LPC videos since 1993. The sounds and images are gathered during their travels around the world or 'zapped' from TV. LPC treats this material quite different from the way it was shown in the original context. By using music and editing techniques LPC enables the audience to see the material in a new way.
