Everybody has wondered at some time in their life: who am I, what makes me what I am? That immediately implies a second question: where do I come from? Whether you like it or not, you cannot avoid a father, mother, grandparents, ‘home’ and sometimes the feeling that you are the (provisional) end-product of centuries of history. Those who, like Nelson Henricks, have a great aversion to everything involved with ‘home’ will have to overcome that aversion in order to find an answer to their questions. Henricks liberates himself without anger from the (innocent) ghosts of his past and makes room for what he calls “the visions from inside my bones”. The result is a subtle video production.
