When we are in a train that is racing through the countryside at top speed and take a casual glance out of the carriage window, all the bushes and trees run together into one skein. The human eye can only make out a general impression lacking in details, an effect that gets stronger the nearer the object being observed comes. When recorded with a camera, we can use montage techniques to impress our will upon such images and an effect can be reached in which the fleeting details can still be captured. Recorded like that, through the glass of the carriage window/the lens/the monitor, we are left with a visual pleasure and it can - for those who want - prove a fruitful basis for coming to terms with the world through meditation.
