Burki's work is characterised by a combination of originality and simplicity. Those who know her video production 'Celui qui a vu passer les éléphants blancs' will be able to endorse this. For her, the technology is less important than the thought behind it and that makes her work interesting and personal. This installation gives the impression of looking at the moon as this can be seen through the windows of white plastered walls in southern countries. The great surprise here is that the window is a door through which you can walk outside. But what happens: when you go through the door, you walk outside, then inside. And there you see the moon. Behind the clouds, in front of the clouds, but always there is the moon.
