Fictitious documentary about a guard in a Brussels park who conducts a tour of the ‘cruise’ areas there. During the tour he volunteers hilarious but also crystal clear analyses of the behaviour of the men who come to the park looking for anonymous sexual encounters.

Chunking House
Netherlands 2002, 31’
Bakker lived for three weeks in Chunking Mansion, a housing complex in Hong Kong that appeals to one’s imagination. She went looking for the stories of the people living there – mostly criminals, prostitutes and illegal residents – for whom anonymity is a condition for survival.

However, the every- day reality of social instability and uncertainty prevents the past from becoming the subject of conversation. The four toasts that are proposed make up the backbone of the video.

By chance Sherman discovers the film archive of Dion Vigne - an unknown Beat filmmaker from San Francisco. Sherman becomes obsessed with Vigne’s work. He interprets, (re)edits and reworks the original films and in doing so he paints a unique picture of on of the most important periods in the history of underground filmmaking in America.
