Platform for exchange
DOEN Foundation congratulates the World Wide Video Festival with its 20th anniversary! For many years this festival has captivated a broad audience interested in media art. This year’s retrospective exhibition in the remarkable Passenger Terminal once again showcases a marvelous selection of video artists from all over the world. This international approach is one the festival’s distinguishing features. World Wide presents developments in media art, and not just from the perspective of 'western' artists; the festival is also a platform for the expression of other, 'non western' culture. It is precisely this intercultural exchange by and within the festival which makes it a pleasure for DOEN to contribute financially to the World Wide Video Festival.

Geert Boogaard, DOEN's programme manager for Culture: "In media art especially we see exchanges taking place, both internationally and interculturally. For DOEN this is an important element. In the Netherlands, the World Wide Video Festival is an important platform for media art, notably also for attracting a large and young audience."
