'sulsouth – voyages into mutant technologies' has been curated by Jose Ferreira. It was first shown 26 April – May 13, 2001 at the Instituto Camões, Centro Cultural Português, Maputo. Jose Ferreira is an artist born in Maputo, Mozambique. He lives and works in London.
This video is part of a series released by Itaú Cultural, with the objective of mapping, identifying and intervening in the shifting space along the thousands of kilometers of Brazil's geographical borders. Travelling together the authors have produced short travelogues of their expeditions into the farthest regions of the country. In this video, the image is divided like a triptych in which, on the background, the geographic borderlines become clear and, in between, human histories are revealed.
